You ruled the bowl with noble pride, A mealtime monarch at our side. With nibbled fingers at first light, You summoned breakfast, set things right. You watched the birds with hunter's gaze, In windows framed by golden rays. And with dear Laurel, loyal friend, You shared your days until the end.
