Preventative Care

A wellness examination is not only our capability to examine your pet's physical body, but it is your chance to have us address your questions or concerns about your pet. We welcome your questions, and it is our privilege to address these concerns. We strive to help you understand your pet's health considerations, and we encourage you to be involved in decisions regarding your pet's health care. Many vaccines are available for use in your dog(s) and/or cat(s), but not every pet requires every available vaccine. Some vaccines are considered core vaccines and should be administered to all pets; however, other vaccines are more optional and may be recommended for pets based on a variety of factors, such as their risk for exposure to the diseases. We will consider all factors as we determine which vaccines are best for your pet.

Dental Care

Bad teeth/periodontal disease (bad gums) are two of the most common diseases in the dogs and cats! About 70-80% of our dogs and cats have some form of the diseases and are susceptible to pain, bad breath and tooth loss when neglected. Long term periodontal disease can spread infections to the heart, liver, lungs, and kidneys, where life threatening damage can occur. Proper dental hygiene is as important for your pet as it is for you.
We use an ultrasonic scalar to clean your pet's teeth and then apply fluoride polishes to your pet's teeth. In addition, a sealer called Oravet is applied to your pet's teeth to slow down the reformation of plaque.
We also carry oral hygiene supplies for at home use to assist in maintaining good oral hygiene of your loved pets. Ask one of the assistants for more information about these products or click here to learn more about proper dental hygiene.
